The University of Minnesota is a world-class institution of graduate and undergraduate education and scholarly research. Total enrollment at the University is nearly 50,000, including about 12,000 graduate students. Around 28% of the graduate students are from countries other than the United States.
The Twin Cities campus is actually three campuses East and West Bank, located on either side of the Mississippi River, just downstream from downtown Minneapolis, and the St. Paul Campus, situated in a pleasant residential neighborhood a few miles from downtown St. Paul.
The University has an outstanding library, with holdings of more than 5 million catalogued volumes and 45,000 serial publications. Major libraries are located on each of the three campuses that make up the Twin Cities campus.
