Department of Applied Economics (612) 624-1692 (Phone) Environmental and natural resource economics, development economics, applied econometrics, economics of water resources. Current research focuses on water pricing policy, water markets and the integrated management of the quantity and quality of water resources. Past recent research includes the selection of the optimal level of disaggregation for estimation, the impact of irrigation on productivity and poverty alleviation, the evolution of institutions in water management, the impact of institutional changes on the welfare of rural population and the factors that have induced the institutional changes. Most of her past research focuses on China. Publications have appeared in Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Food Policy and Hydrogeology Journal. |
