Labor Economics

This course examines the economics of labor markets, including theories of labor supply and labor demand, determination of wages, human capital theory, and unemployment. Both theoretical models and empirical applications will be discussed. The course will consider policy applications, including income tax and welfare policy, minimum wage laws, and discrimination. Rural and regional labor market analysis, migration, and characteristics of labor markets in developing countries will also be included.
