Environmental and Resource Economics Seminars - Fall Semester 2009


Fall Semester 2009 seminars will take place on Mondays from Noon -1:30 pm in Room 230 Classroom Office Building unless otherwise noted.

  • October 5 - John Sheehan, Program Coordinator, Biofuels and the Global Environment, Institute on the Environment, U of M, will present "When Worlds Collide: Biofuels and the ethic of Sustainable Development."

  • October 12 - There will be no Environmental and Resource Economics Seminar.

  • October 19 - There will be no Environmental and Resource Economics Seminar.

  • October 26 - There will be no Environmental and Resource Economics Seminar.

  • November 2 - Stephen Polasky, Professor, Applied Economics will present “Conservation Economics.”

  • November 9 - There will be no Environmental and Resource Economics Seminar.

  • November 16 - James Bushnell, Cargill Endowed Chair in Energy Economics, Iowa State University, will present "Profiting from Regulation: An Event Study of the European Carbon Market."  (with Erin Mansur and Howard Chong).  Paper is available online at http://www.apec.umn.edu/documents/bushnell_carboncost.pdf

  • November 23 - There will be no Environmental and Resource Economics Seminar.

  • November 30  - There will be no Environmental and Resource Economics Seminar.

  • December 7 - Haochi Zheng, Ph.D. Candidate, Applied Economics, will present "Reputation and Land Use."

  • December 14 - Tetsuya Horie, Ph.D. Candidate, Applied Economics, will present "Invasive Species Management on Private Lands."
