Farm management and marketing

Current research includes marketing information prioritization for agricultural producers, alternative instructional approaches for agribusiness accounting, and the influence of psychographic typology as an indicator of farm management/marketing information needs. Additional research includes statewide grain price and basis database including price forecasts; market strategy development; agribusiness retail management strategies including website evaluations; and institutional cost analysis for land grant colleges and universities.

Past work has been published in the National Association of College Teachers of Agriculture Journal and the Journal of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers in the areas of instructional strategy and agricultural marketing strategies for
producers.

Professor Nefstead is secretary/education coordinator for the Minnesota Chapter-American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers; author of MN Chapter News and webmaster for the MN Chapter website. He has also served on the board of directors of the Minnesota Academy of Science.
