Agricultural production, agricultural policy, natural resource and environmental economics, applied econometrics, and experimental economics

Primary research interests include production and risk with an emphasis on the adoption and regulation of emerging technologies. Technologies of recent investigation include genetically engineered herbicide tolerant crops, genetically engineered plant-incorporated-protectants, and information intensive farm management. Additional interests include the understanding of individual differences in risky behavior and the increasing importance of hired labor in agriculture.

Publications have appeared in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, European Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Agricultural and Applied Economics, Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Journal of Public Economics, National Hog Farmer, and Public Choice.
