- The 3rd James P. Houck Lecture on Food and Consumer Policy, sponsored by the U of M Food Industry Center, was held on April 16, 2008. Featured guest speaker was David Laibson, Professor of Economics at Harvard University. He spoke on "Temptation, Self-Control, and Public Policy."
- The 3rd Willard W. Cochrane Lecture in Public Policy, sponsored by the U of M Center for International Food and Agricultural Policy, was held on January 31, 2008. Featured guest speaker was Ambassador Joseph Glauber. He spoke on "Whither U.S. Agricultural Trade Policy."
- The 2nd Philip M. Raup Lecture on Land and Environmental Policy, sponsored by the U of M Center for International Food and Agricultural Policy and the Fesler-Lampert Chair of Ecological/Environmental Economics was held on May 17, 2007. Daniel W. Bromley, University of Wisconsin, spoke on "Crafting Environmental Policy in the Teeth of Possessive Individualism: Whose Land Is It?"
- The 2nd James P. Houck Lecture on Food and Consumer Policy, sponsored by the U of M Food Industry Center was held on April 17, 2007. Michael Martin, President of New Mexico State University, spoke on "A Houckian's Perspective on Several Contemporary Issues."
- The 2nd Willard W. Cochrane Lecture in Public Policy, sponsored by the Center for International Food and Agricultural Policy, was held on November 15, 2006. Joachim von Braun, International Food Policy Research Institute, spoke on "Globalization of the Agri-Food System."
- The Vernon W. Ruttan Lecture on Science and Development Policy, sponsored by the International Science and Technology Practice and Policy (InSTePP), was held on October 18, 2006. Richard Nelson, Columbia University, spoke on "Institutions and Economic Growth: Making Sense of the Relationship."
- The James P. Houck Lecture on Food and Consumer Policy, sponsored by The Food Industry Center, was held on May 16, 2006. Juan Enriquez, Harvard University, spoke on "Technology, Gene Research, and National Competitiveness."
- The Philip M. Raup Lecture on Land and Environmental Policy, sponsored by the Center for International Food and Agricultural Policy, was held on March 9, 2006. Emery N. Castle, Professor Emeritus, Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Oregon State University, was the guest lecturer. He spoke on "The Separation of Powers - Federal, State, Local - and Environmental Public Policy."
- The Inaugural Willard W. Cochrane Lecture in Public Policy, sponsored by the Center for International Food and Agricultural Policy, was held on November 30, 2005. Ambassador Clayton Yuetter, former USDA Secretary and U.S. Trade Representative was guest lecturer. He spoke on "The Farm Bill and the Doha Round."
