National Ag Risk Education Library This site is "...a major component of the USDA's Risk Management Education (RME) program. The library organizes thousands of risk management materials which help producers and agricultural professionals quickly locate information, tools, and assistance on specifc risk management topics. National Agricultural Law Center Reading Rooms The National Agricultural Law Center's Library has created a set of subject-based Reading Rooms. "Each reading room contains a comprehensive list of current electronic resources for an agricultural or food law topic. Links are provided to major statutes, regulations, case law, Federal Register Digest reports, Center-published research articles and bibliographies, government publications, Congressional publications, and numerous other research resources. Agricultural Outlook Agricultural Outlook was published 10 times per year by the Economic Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. Besides feature articles on agricultural topics, each issue also included a set of economic indicators for the agricultural economy. Agricultural Outlook was replaced by Amber Waves in 2003, but the statistical indicators are still updated on this web site.

USDA Economics, Statistics and Market Information System (ESMIS) The USDA Economics, Statistics and Market Information System (ESMIS) is a collaborative project between Albert R. Mann Library at Cornell University and several agencies of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The system contains nearly 2500 reports and datasets. These materials cover U.S. and international agriculture and related topics. Available titles include both current and historical data. Many of the current titles are available via email subscription.
USDA Foreign Agricultural Service The FAS site has many valuable resources for agricultural economists. The "Hot Country Pages" include recent press releases, attache reports, and export/import statistics by country. The "Commodities and Products" pages give comprehensive commodity by commodity breakdown of exports and imports. The "Attache Reports" are available for 130 countries and may be searched by keyword.
USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service The NASS website has links to data and publications on the agricultural situation in the United States. Historical data and graphical presentations of data are available. The Census of Agriculture is published by NASS and is available in PDF format. Agricultural Science and Technology Indicators (ASTI) "The ASTI initiative compiles, processes, and makes available data on institutional developments and investments in agricultural R&D worldwide, and analyzes and reports on these trends in the form of periodic policy digests. It entails a large amount of original and on-going survey work focused on developing countries."
AMAD - Agricultural Market Access Database "AMAD results from a co-operative effort by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, EU Commission - Agriculture Directorate General, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, The World Bank, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and United States Department of Agriculture - Economic Research Service. Crop Profiles and Timelines "Crop Profiles are descriptions of crop production and pest management practices compiled on a state basis for specific commodities. They are searchable by crop, state or keyword...Crop Timelines are descriptions of generalised crop phenology, pest occurrence and human activity for specific crops by state."
EarthTrends: Environmental Information This searchable database is provided by World Resources Institute. The database includes data tables, country profiles, maps and other information arranged in 10 topical sections including sections for Water Resources, Energy Resources, and Agriculture and Food.
ECONlinks: Economic Resources for Economists ECONlinks was developed to provide easy access to basic economic and financial information for studens in economics and business courses. ECONlinks lists websites on news, economic indicators, financial markets, forecasts, economic data, government publications, international resources, teacher resources, etc.
Environmental Working Group Farm Subsidy Database, 1995-2003 "The Environmental Working Group's online database of government farm subsidy records for subsidy checks sent from 1995-2003 is searchable by city, county, or name."
FAPRI (Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute) Databases "FAPRI's interactive databases include Commodities Database which "provides historical and projected information for several countries, products and variables (such as acreage, yield, and demand)...The Elasticities Database is a storehouse of elasticity values from the FAPRI model estimates. The Agricultural Policy Database provides historical and projected agricultural policy information for the countries covered by the FAPRI models."
Food Availability (Per Capita) Data System "ERS food availability (per capita) data system includes three distinct but related data series on food consumption. The data serve as popular proxies for actual consumption. Food availability data are now available through 2005 at the national level. Also included are data on nutrient availability in the food supply and data on loss-adjusted food availability. This latter data series uses dietary recommendations from the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and its supporting guidance document MyPyramid Plan.
Food Security Statistics From the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Includes time series for many countries on: food deprivation, food needs, food consumption, food production and trade, diet composition, access to food, food aid, nutritional status, health, poverty, and population. International Macroeconomic Data Set "The international macroeconomic data set provides data from 1969 through 2017 for real (adjusted for inflation) Gross Domestic Product (GDP), population, real exchange rates, and other variables for the 190 countries and 34 regions that are most important for U.S. agricultural trade."
LDP Information The University of Iowa, Center for Agricultural and Rural Development provides this interactive Loan Deficiency Payments Database that includes "several options for checking LDP's of several crops by state and county. It also provides targeted marketing strategy information for corn and soybeans based on your crop's current LDP rate." Producer and Consumer Support Estimates, OECD Database 1986-2003 "This database is a complement to the report Agricultural Polices in OECD Countries: At a Glance - Edition 2004.It provides detailed information on Producer support estimates and Consumer support estimates in the Excel format."
Production, Supply and Distribution Online "This database contains current and historical official USDA data on production, supply and distribution of agricultural commodities for the United States and key producing and consuming countries."
Rural Indicators Map Machine "...internet-based mapping utility that provides a visualization of indicators for rural areas available from ERS. These indicators include the Natural Amenities Scale, the Rural Typology Code, the Urban Influence Code, the Rural-urban Continuum Code, and the Rural-urban Commuting Area Code."

American Community Survey This is a "nationwide survey designed to provide communities a fresh look at how they are changing." The 2002 data profiles were released in September 2003. The files include age, ancestry, education, employment, fertility, income, industry, occupation, journey to work, labor force status and housing characteristics.
Census Atlas of the United States "...the first comprehensive atlas of population and housing produced by the Census Bureau since the 1920s. The Census Atlas is a large-format publication about 300 pages long and containing almost 800 maps. Data from decennial censuses prior to 2000 support nearly 150 maps and figures, providing context and an historical perspective for many of the topics presented. A variety of topics are covered in the Census Atlas, ranging from language and ancestry characteristics to housing patterns and the geographic distribution of the population.
