Industrial organization, economics of transportation, and applied econometrics

Teaches courses in applied econometrics and econometric analysis.

Current research includes development of flexible functional forms for cost estimation, empirical evaluation of railroad costs and mergers, estimates of highway agency costs using panel data, and the design of regulatory mechanisms.

Recent publications have appeared in the Brookings Papers on Economic Activity, Journal of Regulatory Economics, and M.I.T. Studies in Railroad Operations and Economics.
