| Undergraduate scholarships help us attract and retain the best students for our nationally recognized programs in Applied Economics and Agricultural and Food Business Management. Student support is President Bruininks’ top fund-raising priority, and the University of Minnesota has established an ambitious campaign to establish endowed scholarships that will fund students year after year. Under the President’s Scholarship Match Program gifts of $25,000 or more are used to create endowments that yield an annual return that is matched by the University.
The Department annually provides scholarships from one endowed scholarship fund, and we are working to establish a second endowed Scholarship.
- The Applied Economics Undergraduate Scholarship Fund was recently established to fund undergraduate students in good academic standing and actively pursuing degrees, or very promising students the College and Department wish to recruit. This fund has not yet reached to level required to qualify for the President’s Scholarship Match Program, and we especially encourage gifts that will help us reach that goal.
- The Willis L. Peterson Undergraduate Study Fund provides scholarships for undergraduate students who have completed fewer than 60 credits of the year of application and have already taken Principles of Microeconomics.
The Willis L. Peterson Undergraduate Study Fund already qualifies for the matching return. Once the minimum fund balance has been reached for the Applied Economics Undergraduate Scholarship Fund, it will also qualify for the matching return.
We also encourage alumni and friends to consider endowing a new scholarship under the President's Scholarship Match Program. For more information, contact:
