Donald Liu is a Morse-Alumni Distinguished Teaching Professor and a member of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers, University of Minnesota. 

He teaches two courses, an introductory microeconomics and a Ph.D. level marketing economics, and serves as the program coordinator for College in the Schools – Economics.

Dr. Liu’s research interests include structural changes in agriculture; irreversibility and threshold patterns of economic behaviors; market imperfections and impacts; trade and market policies; globalization, food safety and product quality; and commodity promotion, advertising and effectiveness.

Liu’s publications have appeared in both academic journals and popular press, including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Agricultural and Resource Economics Review, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Review of Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness: An International Journal, Journal of Futures Markets, NICPRE Quarterly, Choices, Minnesota Agricultural Economist, Journal of Dairy Science, Hoards Dairymen, New England Farmer, and Industry of Free China.
