  • December 20 - The article in Technology Review titled "The Price of Biofuels" by David Rotman features comments from Vernon Eidman, Stephen Polasky and C. Ford Runge.

    An excerpt from the article states: "There may be no better place to get a realistic appraisal of biofuels than the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. The large campus housing the department and the rest of the university's school of agriculture lies on a low hill in a quiet St. Paul neighborhood."

  • December 20 - "New ethanol mandate brings challenges - President Bush signed into law a new energy policy Wednesday (December 19th) that, among other things, will increase fuel efficiency standards for cars and trucks to 35 mpg, by 2020, and will phase out incandescent light bulbs. ...
